It Begins Today
I moved to Mexico in May of 2018. I’m a writer and artist, retired from the corporate world in 2016, and my thought was that I’d have an idyllic life at the lakeside with time to do what I love, socialize a little, and have furry critters.
From the beginning I wrote about my days and happenings on FB, my only social media at that time, and the people in my large circle of friends loved to read about my life. And it was good.
My son, Dan, moved here two years later and we built a house on a little 1500 square meter piece of land with a lake view and hevenly breezes. and then the evolution of life at the lake started with getting chickens for eggs. Today, just three and a half years later, we have an average of 100 animals, we sell things we make as well as farm produce at local markets, and I am a homesteader. Funny how life has a plan for you that supercedes your own ideas,
About six months ago I began watching youtube videos and learning about things that would help me on the farm. The more I watched, and the more my friends encouraged me to write, the more I thought I should do a youtube channel of my own.
So I did.
And I created a new website to go with it and an online store to go with that. And now, I am adding a blog where I will do my musing instead of on FB. This is the beginning of a whole new phase of my life at the age of 72 (in just 2 weeks).. Oh I know, people have been doing this for years, probably even decades, but just because I’m always late to the party, doesn’t mean it won’t be a great story.
So, sign up to receive notices of new postings and you won’t miss a single event. My blog and my videos will cris-cross each other but never be the same. Comment, ask questions if you like, on both the videos and the blog. I like the interaction and it will help me to bring you content you find valuable on the youtube videos.
Maybe, as we look back at this moment in five years, we’ll find out we became friends, and in some small way I made you feel, taught you something important, or gave you courage to go in a new direction. i hope so.
Blessings!
